DC Environment and Bioterra are respectively the contractor and the service provider for soil and groundwater decontamination works recognised by the Flemish government. The company provides tailor-made solutions for the whole issue both on a technical and financial level.

As a pioneer, Bioterra has built up enormous experience and vast expertise. Bioterra therefore in no way shrinks from employing its know-how and the latest techniques. This means that Bioterra can provide a solution to any problem.

The recognised centre for soil decontamination (CGR) is also recognised as a temporary storage place (TOP) for excavated soils and dredging sludges. The company specialises in the processing of contaminated soil, mineral waste (road sweeping sand, sewage slurry, gully waste car wash sludge, sand blasting/grit, foundry sand, fines from C & D waste, bottom ashes, etc.) and carrying out full soil decontamination projects with help from both the mother company (DC Industrial) as sister company (DC Environment)

Bioterra aims to provide a solution for all soils, regardless of the level of contamination and structure of the encountered waste stream. As well as the existing exploitation of a CGR and 4 TOPs, the company is also committed to outsourcing a definitive storage place (DOP) for excavated soils, where soil deposits of a certain environmentally-hygienic quality can be stored definitively (i.e. backfilling operation). On a yearly basis, Bioterra processes about 1,25 million tons of soils, sludges and various mineral waste fractions at its sites.

In addition to Bioterra's already progressive and sustainable mission in the field of recycling and the use of recycled aggregates, we have also made a strategic decision to develop our sites on important inland waterways in order to reduce its mobility/transport footprint and improve general accessibility, especially for larger volumes.
