Sustainability Approach

DC Industrial provides exceptional, integrated dredging and maritime construction services. We leverage our expertise in sand extraction, aggregates trading, inland and coastal dredging, and environmental remediation projects to deliver a comprehensive range of solutions for clients across Europe. By using our expertise and capabilities, we aim reduce our environmental impact whilst maintaining our level of quality.

We recognize the pressing global challenges related to the environment and energy transition. As a company operating in and around waterways, our services have a significant impact on the environment. Our work protects coastlines, conducts sustainable waterworks, enables transport through inland waterways and remediates polluted sites. At this point in time, there is also an environment impact inherent to our activities.

Therefore, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to contribute to positive change. We are committed to integrating sustainable practices into every aspect of our work and by doing so, we hope to play our part in addressing these environmental challenges. We took the first steps in 2023, one of which is establishing a sustainability committee to initiate and oversee projects in a more structured manner.

Our approach is grounded in practicality and data. We set ambitious yet achievable goals, focusing on areas where we can make a real difference. Through continuous learning, improvement and innovation, we strive to be a reliable and responsible partner in the different industries where we’re active.

We believe in collaboration and partnership. By working closely with government agencies, environmental organizations, and other stakeholders, we can develop effective solutions for the challenges facing our waterways and coastlines.

Guiding principles to achieve our sustainability goals:

Minimizing our Environmental Footprint: We actively pursue strategies to reduce our CO2 emissions and explore innovative technologies that minimize environmental impact. We started using a structured approach with management systems ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and in 2023 with the CO2 performance ladder, a certified management system by SKAO that will help us reduce our CO2 emissions and communicate our level of CO2 performance to our stakeholders through a certificate. For more information, see below (link).

Sustainable Materials and Practices: We will gradually prioritize the use of environmentally friendly materials and practices in our general way of working and in projects, promoting responsible resource management and circularity.

Collaboration for a Sustainable Future: We foster strong partnerships with government agencies, environmental organizations, and stakeholders to develop forward-thinking solutions that address the evolving challenges of our waterways and coastlines.
