Les Carrières du Fond des Vaulx
Les Carrières du Fond des Vaulx, located in Wellin (province of Luxembourg, E411 Brussels-Luxembourg motorway, exit 23, 2 km from the site), was founded in 1946. It operates a deposit (±90 ha) of an exceptional quality in a real calcareous backbone called "La Calestienne".
Thanks to rational investments and the use of increasingly efficient equipment, the company, a member of Fediex, has continued to develop. To date, it employs 25 motivated and experienced people. It generates a turnover of more than 10 million euros per year.
The quarries, which occupy a privileged position in relation to the motorway network, produce approximately 1,250,000 tonnes of aggregates and limestone sands annually, most of which are marketed under the Marquage С Level 2+ and under the voluntary Belgian brands Benor and Luxembourg Granulat Certifié. The products marketed are of a wide variety and intended for many markets: buildings, construction and public works, roads, road construction, concrete plants, asphalt plants, prefabrication, railways, agricultural sector, sanitation works, reinforcement of dykes, etc. The products are removed from the quarry by the customer or its approved subcontractors.
Les Carrières du Fond des Vaulx have their own fully equipped laboratory where the different products are constantly checked and analysed. The people working there have 4 missions: ensuring the quality of production and respecting the compliance of materials with the various standards, taking samples on site, advising customers on the basis of their long experience and their continuous training, researching innovations.
Anxious to always better meet the needs of customers, the managers of Les Carrières du Fond des Vaulx actively pursue a judicious investment policy. For several years, these have greatly exceeded one million euros annually.
